Meet the our team at Karing for Kreatures "K+K"

  • Dr.
    Kaitlen Lawton-Betchel

    Doctor Kaitlen Lawton-Betchel grew up in Lemoore, California. At the age of 12, Kaitlen started a veterinary group for her local 4-H club and her dream of becoming a veterinarian began. Dr. Betchel is an alumni of West Hills College and Fresno Pacific University. She graduated from Midwestern University in Arizona with her doctorate of veterinary medicine and her business certificate. She started work as a veterinary assistant at the age of 15 and prior to veterinary school she worked in both emergency small animal medicine and in shelter medicine. She has extensive training in both small animal medicine as well as exotic animal medicine including reptiles, small mammals, fish, and birds. She has taken additional training courses in exotic medicine, ultrasound, dental procedures, communications, small animal nutrition, and small animal acupuncture. She is fear free certified and practices low stress handling along with pheromones, treats, and distraction tools to make your pets experience enjoyable. In her free time she enjoys playing piano, trail riding, and spending time with her husband, Nicholas Betchel.

    Elizabeth Collins

    Dr. Elizabeth Collins has had a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes since she was young. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's dual degree VMD-MBA program.  Originally from Newark, DE, she earned her degrees in veterinary technology and veterinary science from Becker College in Worcester, MA before continuing to veterinary school. She has worked as a veterinary technician since 2014 and hasn't met a species that she doesn't love. When she isn't working, she enjoys hiking, cross-stitching, and spending time with her husband, Shane, as well as her cat, Monkey, and dog, Sabo.

  • Secret Agent 007

    007 is our clinic secret service. He watches over the clinic when we are away. He came to us due to becoming ill as a young Bearded Dragon while living at a pet store. We all hit it off so well, that he inquired on the security position at our hospital. He is always on duty and looks out for any suspicious people. Look for 007 at your pet’s next appointment.  He’s always keeping a watchful eye on everyone.

  • Ashlyn :

    Vet Assistant Ashlyn has had a passion for animals since childhood.  She began her time with us as a client.  We quickly recognized her deep love and commitment to animals, so we suggested she apply for a job with us.  When she is not at work, she rescuing and re-homing helpless animals in need, and being an advocate for them.  Ashlyn is an alumni of West Hills College and is currently enrolled in Penn Foster's RVT program.  Ashlyn's life long goal is a career as a Registered Veterinary Technician.  The love of her life is Rosie Girl, a pitbull she rescued from an abandoned house.  

  • Bryanda :

    Bryanda lives in Riverdale with her family.  She is bilingual, so she's a huge help to our Spanish speaking clients.  She is a graduate of SJVC Vet Assistant program.  She works as an assistant and also as one of Dr. Betchel's scribes, helping Dr. Betchel to keep patient medical records.

  • Elizabeth :

    Elizabeth started as one of the first clients when we opened our doors.  She was born and raised in Southern California and relocated to Lemoore when she married her husband 12 yrs ago.  She is the mother of 2 teenagers, 3 dogs, 5 cats, 2 bearded dragons, and 3 guinea pigs.  When she's not answering phones and scheduling appointments, she is out hiking, fishing, watching football or just snuggled up on the couch with her dog, Rocket.

  • Hannah :

    Vet Assistant Hannah was born and raised in the small town of Lemoore, CA.  She was raised around animals all her life from bottle feeding calves on her grandfather's dairy to raising guide dogs for the blind in high school. She has a huge soft spot for all livestock, but especially cows.  Hannah is currently working towards her goal to become a registered veterinary technician and is currently enrolled at SJVC.  Hannah has been a long time client at Karing for Kreatures, so we were honored when she decided to join our team.  'I jumped at the opportunity to continue to grow my knowledge in a hands-on environment', Hannah said.  In her off time, she loves to go on fishing trips with her dog 'Dixie'.

  • Kameryn :

    Kameryn is a graduate of San Joaquin Valley College vet assistant program.  She works as a receptionist or assistant depending on the day.  When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her toddler son and her bulldog. 

  • Kiersten :

    Kiersten is a Registered Veterinary Technician.  She graduate from San Joaquin Valley College Veterinary Technician program. Her goal is to specialize in marine mammals.  Since childhood, she has always wanted to work with animals.  Kiersten said, 'I absolutely love working at Karing for Kreatures.  All the different faces we see and help daily.  It is amazing to be in the career I have always dreamed of.'

  • LaDawna :

    LaDawna is our practice manager.  She has an extensive customer service background and a passion for animals. She is the proud mother of 3 adult children, Kaitlen, Brian, and Haden. She lives with her husband of 31 years, Steve, on a 2 1/2 acre ranch in Lemoore. They have a horse, 4 dogs, 4 cats, 5 chickens and 2 desert tortoises in the menagerie. You will see her at the clinic doing whatever needs to be done from making  schedules, banking, sweeping, reception or restraining an animal for an X-ray. She looks forward to taking your pet’s photo at your next visit, since she is in charge of Karing for Kreature’s social media. 

  • Marina :

    Vet Assistant Marina grew up in Fresno.  She now lives in Lemoore with her 2 fur babies Scoobie and Sadie.  She is a graduate of San Joaquin Valley College.  She joined our staff in 2019 following an externship with our hospital.  She is currently studying to take her RVT boards in 2021.  She is an animal advocate and often rescues pups in need.  If she’s not at work or rescuing a pup, she’s probably at Disneyland, which is her second passion in life!

  • Rennee :

    Rennee is an alumni of West Hills College.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at Fresno State University.  Growing up on a dairy sparked her interest in animals.  She has 4 fur kids, 1 cat and 3 dogs.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and crafting.  If you ever receive a beautiful handmade card from our hospital, she’s the artist that created it especially for you!  Though becoming a veterinarian is her ultimate goal, she currently works daily as a Scribe and is Dr. Betchel’s go to when something needs to be done.  Rennee is also bilingual, which is very helpful for our Spanish speaking clients.
